I have a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Environmental Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Organic Agriculture. I am also a trained breastfeeding peer supporter and a keen gardener. My husband is from the Netherlands, so I can understand Dutch; within a year of meeting him, I set myself the challenge of reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice in Dutch (Trots en Vooroordeel), and I'm proud to say I did it!
I am an Intermediate Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), and I adhere to their code of practice. I completed proofreading training with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and I qualified with merit. I have also completed the SfEP's Introduction to Copy-editing course. I am a member of the Association of Independent Publishing Professionals (AIPP), which is dedicated to supporting freelance professionals who provide services for independent authors.
I care about the written word. It's how we present ourselves to the world through our books and articles; essays, dissertations or theses; our printed business materials; and our websites or blogs. I want to help others make the best of their words and, therefore, ultimately, their opportunities.
You can find out more about me on my LinkedIn profile, or by reading my first blog post.
